Afina ... pediatric nurse

Greetings Friends,

My name is Afina Brooks and I attend Rising Star Business Academy in Moreno Valley CA. I am in the 11th grade and at the top of my class. Upon completion of high school in 2017, I want to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). I plan to become a pediatric nurse and take care of premature babies.

I’m writing to you today to let you know that I have recently been invited to travel on a college tour that will visit 8 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in 3 states over 5 days and 4 nights during Spring Break from March 21-26, 2016. The program fee is $1,395.00 and includes airfare, tour, meals, and nearly all of the costs involved.

This opportunity is a gift from God that would open up a whole new world to me. However, the financial costs are too much for my mom to be able to send me. I would like to ask you to partner with me to help me reach my educational goals.

I am seeking your financial assistance to cover the program fee and related costs of my college tour. This is a significant amount for one person but not for many. Any amount you can give, big or small, would be wonderful. Every little bit helps!

We were homeless living in my mom’s truck for months until we got connected with Path of Life Ministries. My family is participating in the Rapid Rehousing Program. We are truly grateful and blessed that we have been housed in a beautiful home in Moreno Valley, CA for the last 7 months. Now Path of Life is trying to help me reach my goals.
